George Steven Centre

The SMART (Support in Maintaining A Realistic Tenancy) Approach helps people to live as independently as possible. This is done by teaching domestic skills such as budgeting, banking, cooking, shopping and social interaction.

The George Steven Centre is such a great place and it has helped build my confidence.

Caroline Ferguson is a service user at the George Steven Centre. She's also a volunteer in the centre's community cafe, where she learns a range of new skills.

Caroline said: 'The George Steven Centre is such a great place and it has helped build my confidence. I'm now able to use public transport to get here and back home again on my own.'

'It's hard to say what I enjoy best about the centre - probably that I get the chance to do sport, especially football and badminton.'

'The staff at the centre have helped me change for the better."
