Sutton Corps Relay Marathons

Throughout a week in April 2021, many friends (children and adults) of Sutton Corps took part by running or walking in relay marathons to raise funds to support the community work of Sutton Salvation Army Church.

Over 80 people of all ages got involved by walking, or joining in with the kid’s mini marathon [1 or 2 km runs], or the adult relay marathon, all within a Covid secure, risk assessed and managed framework.

  • They covered a total distance of 375km on foot, plus 42km covered by the lead bikes
  • They raised £3895, with gift aid!
  • They included live links to the Sutton Salvation Army Sunday morning worship meeting from the Relay Marathon

But more than anything, the sense of togetherness and community during Covid times was absolutely brilliant. People loved it!

We are deeply passionate about serving our local community

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on everyone's lives and on society. However, the work of Sutton Salvation Army in their local community continues. This work includes supporting Sutton Foodbank, providing practical assistance where possible to those in need, befriending the lonely, offering a safe space for various support groups, sign-posting, and offering a listening ear.

Well done, Sutton Corps!
