Volunteer to help keep Aberystwyth connected
published on 23 Mar 2026
The Salvation Army in Aberystwyth is calling for new volunteers to help deliver its much-needed community services.
The team is looking for people with kitchen experience and a Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification to support its busy Thursday Drop-In from 10am to 1pm. The role includes preparing food, serving, and completing all kitchen tasks, including the end of session clean down.
Lieutenant Paul Sass, who leads The Salvation Army in Aberystwyth, says the Drop-In is far more than a meal service:
“Our Drop-In provision plays an important part in our community. People who attend on Thursdays tell me they feel it is a safe place to meet friends, with welcoming people, and a good place to talk about mental health and get help with any issues troubling them.
“It is very humbling to hear such comments from those who experience our service first hand. Volunteers are essential to The Salvation Army’s work. Without them many vital and valued community spaces would be either impossible to run or access would be limited.”
