Commissioner Paul Main, Territorial Commander of The Salvation Army, said:  “In this time of sadness, The Salvation Army joins with other faith communities to pray for everyone affected by the shocking attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester.

“Every life is sacred, and every act of violence leaves a scar on our shared humanity. We stand in sorrow with the Jewish community as a whole and pray that in the wake of this attack we can each reach out across divides with a renewed desire to ‘love your neighbour as yourself’.

“Two of our emergency response vehicles were deployed to the scene to support the emergency services and our team, including volunteers, will continue to assist on the ground offering pastoral support to all those affected at this difficult time.

"We will continue to pray and work for peace and welcome all to join us.”
