Help us support people like Jason
Please send a donation to help others who are homeless, hungry and heartbroken this Christmas.
Jason had a successful career, running his own cleaning business. Then he was brutally attacked outside his home and suffered a severe brain injury.
In one cruel moment, Jason lost everything. His injuries changed his personality and made him very hard to live with, so his relationship with his partner broke down. Finally, he lost his home and ended up sleeping on a park bench. Jason remembers, "I felt ashamed and degraded."
Fortunately, Jason was offered a place at a Salvation Army Lifehouse (residential centre for people experiencing homelessness). Jason was in low spirits when he moved into the Lifehouse. But after a few months of The Salvation Army’s loving care, his outlook changed completely.
This Christmas, Jason is looking forward to spending Christmas Day with his ex-partner and their children in his new home. He’s proud of what he’s achieved and looking forward to what the New Year will bring. He hopes to get back to working and earning. He says,
Thanks to our loving friendship, Jason has put the pain and darkness behind him.
At The Salvation Army we see firsthand how people in desperate circumstances can turn their lives around, if they are given the love and practical help they need.
Please support our Christmas Appeal so we can provide hot food, practical support and somewhere warm to sleep for people who are homeless this winter.
