Ebbsfleet Garden City

The Salvation Army's Employment Plus service offers tailored support to help people build confidence, develop skills and move towards sustainable employment.  We work with people facing a range of barriers to work, providing practical and personalised support to help them take the next step.

Look out for further details which will enable access to this service during October and November 2026.

On the last Monday of the month (unless it is a Bank Holiday)  we host a wellbeing hub in The Blue Bean Coffee Shop - Castle Hill.  We are open for all from 7.30 to 9pm, and will treat you to a coffee or other refreshments. We gather to chat,  laugh and get to know our neighbours.  It is a very relaxed atmosphere.  You will find the dates for this event on the poster below. Pop it in your diary and come along.

 

We gather at The Blue Bean Coffee Co, Cherry Orchard, DA10 1EQ each Tuesday at 12.30.

We take a gentle walk for around 45 mins, enjoy nature, our beautiful surroundings and company.

Scooters and dogs welcome. 

Starfish is a Salvation Army mentoring programme working with children and young people in schools, 9 - 16 years. 

We are currently working with two local primary schools and a secondary school.

As part of our youth engagement season we have been meeting young people in schools at lunchtime through the provision of a wellbeing hub. This has enabled us to undertake a survey with young people themselves and identify the sorts of interventions that they would appreciate.  It has been wonderful to meet some of these young people again when we have been out in the community - and it has proved a great way in which to build and develop relationships.

We are proud to partner with the Reverend Penny Marsh and the Ebbsfleet Baptist Church to run this event which takes place in The Blue Bean Coffee Shop, on particular dates  during the  school holidays.  

If you have an hour or two (or more!) to spare - have you considered volunteering with The Salvation Army in Ebbsfleet.  There is lots to do. Here are just a few opportunities:

• Supporting us in caring for our vehicle
• Driving the vehicle
• Starfish mentoring
• Helping with our Christmas appeal
• Assisting with our Youth Engagement Programmes
• Helping and supporting in Community Hubs
• Support with any of our regular activities

In partnership with Ebbsfleet Baptist Church, we love being part of the coffee morning team.  If you are a parent or carer of a young child,   we have  a great selection of  toys for them to play with.  There will also be lots of tea, coffee and friendly chat - all those things that make up a great community.  Come and join in - every Friday between 10.00 and 11.30am.   

You will always find The Salvation Army at the craft table!

We know how important work experience weeks are in providing an opportunity to: try out career ideas and rule out others; find out more about individual strengths, values, motivations and interests; develop soft skills, such as teamwork and problem solving; meeting new people and beginning to build a network of contacts; challenging yourself to overcome some of those things that may seem really difficult.  If you are thinking about a work experience placement for 2027 and want to explore all of this, whilst at the same time learning about The Salvation Army , a Christian Church and Charity then we would love to hear from you.
