Regular activities...
The Salvation Army in Ebbsfleet is mobile! The specially adapted vehicle designed to offer opportunities for the communities of Ebbsfleet, Northfleet and Swanscombe to share, connect and support each other, is here and she has been out and about since Easter 2026.
Esther has provided a welcoming environment that is being used for health and wellbeing activities; children and youth engagement and inter-generational events that have seen families and communities come together.
Pioneer leader, Louise Finch, says: “We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community and the way in which Esther has become a recognised and much loved member of our team.
Over recent months, we have:
- visited local schools and provided lunchtime Wellbeing Hubs, creating safe and supportive spaces for young people to connect and access support
- offered work experience placements within the charity sector to 20 students who have joined in with what The Salvation Army are doing locally. Some of our students have gone on to become regular Salvation Army volunteers
- organised and delivered Summer Youth Pop-Up events across the area, bringing communities together through free family activities, fostering new connections, and encouraging people to share, support, and engage with one another.
These initiatives have helped strengthen community relationships, create valuable opportunities for young people, and support the wellbeing of individuals and families across the area.
The Salvation Army in Ebbsfleet would like to say a tremendous thank you to all the local community organisations and groups for their generous donations and fundraising efforts towards the cost of Esther. Together with the dedication and support of our incredible volunteers, this has enabled the work of The Salvation Army to flourish, strengthening our ability to serve the community, support those in need, and make a lasting difference in the lives of so many people.
