Put Love into Action this Christmas.

Help The Salvation Army put our love into action by funding the practical support and heartfelt care for thousands of people this Christmas and help remind those who might otherwise feel forgotten that they are truly loved. Whether it is the over 4,000 Christmas meals we will serve to people experiencing hunger, homelessness and loneliness, or the over 68,000 Christmas presents we will give to vulnerable children who would otherwise go without, or the countless other ways we will help those in need. The Salvation Army will show that our love is alive, active and close at hand.

Our love is not just a feeling; our love spurs us into action. We are committed to showing that love where it is needed most. So, this Christmas, our love will reach out to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, and hardship by offering warmth, care and dignity. Our love is powerful, from a hot meal on a freezing night to a Christmas present to a child who might otherwise go without, it supports individuals and families who might otherwise feel forgotten.

Since 1865, The Salvation Army’s mission has put love into action by offering practical support, friendship, and care to people every day of the year. Across our hundreds of centres, whether through a fuel voucher, warm meals, or companionship, our love will provide the warmth of being seen, being heard, and being cared for to anyone who walks through our doors.

Because our love is active and reaches out every day, the lives of countless people we have supported are transformed. Whether it is the more than 206,000 Christmas gifts we have delivered since 2022 to vulnerable children who would otherwise go without, which bring joy and a sense of normality to families crippled by poverty or hardship, or the 2,920 beds we provide at our residential accommodation for people experiencing homelessness, offering them both shelter and support to help them get their lives back on track, our love changes lives.

Cathy’s Story: Finding Strength and Love at Christmas

When Cathy's relationship broke down after enduring financial abuse and coercive control, she suddenly found herself a single mother of two young children, struggling to make ends meet. With Christmas approaching, she worried how she would afford food and presents.

This is when The Salvation Army’s love reached out and supported Cathy. Through our Christmas Present Appeal and food support, she received gifts for her children and a festive hamper that helped her give them a joyful Christmas.

“When I saw the gifts, I was overwhelmed. It made me feel involved in my children’s Christmas again. Seeing their happiness gave me my confidence back.”

Thanks to The Salvation Army's support, Cathy was able to give her children the kind of Christmas every parent hopes for, one filled with warmth and love.

Beyond Christmas, Cathy found friendship and a sense of belonging through her local Salvation Army’s weekly women’s group. The support she received helped her rebuild her self-esteem and start living again, not just surviving.

Why Savills Chose to Give Hope This Christmas

Last Christmas, our partners at Savills and their generous donation helped support individuals in Birmingham, Bristol, and Edinburgh at a time when it mattered most. Their support helped our love reach out to provide Christmas meals, seasonal joy, warmth, and care to those who needed our help. Ultimately, Savills' gift enabled the people we support to experience our practical love more profoundly.

“Last Christmas, we were proud to support The Salvation Army’s mission to put love into action. Our donation helped provide vital support to individuals and families experiencing hardship, from warm meals and food parcels to Christmas gifts for children. It was a privilege to play a part in helping make the season brighter for those who needed it most.”
