Support our work this Christmas
This Christmas, you can help us support somebody suffering like Wayne, bringing joy and hope into their lives.
We know times are tough for many people, and families will struggle to feed and clothe their children. There will be some people struggling to keep a roof over their heads and others who will find themselves on cold and dangerous streets. In 600 communities across the country, The Salvation Army will be doing all we can for people in desperate need, whatever their circumstances.
At The Salvation Army we put faith into action, and offer compassion and practical help to vulnerable people going through difficult times. This Christmas, we are reducing, preventing and helping to end homelessness.
Help us support people like Wayne.
Since he was 15, Wayne has been homeless on and off and struggled with his mental health, leading to heroin and alcohol addiction.
It was The Salvation Army’s Housing First scheme that helped Wayne make huge changes in his life. Since moving into his own home and with the support of the staff, Wayne stopped using drugs and is looking forward to a bright future.
For The Salvation Army it is unthinkable that people should be living on the streets in the bitter cold, especially in winter. That’s why we won’t rest until we’ve reached out to as many suffering and vulnerable people as we can.
Please support our Christmas Appeal so we can provide hot food, practical support and somewhere warm to sleep for people who are homeless this season.
How your gift will help us :
- £9 could contribute towards one-to-one support for someone in our Lifehouses – centres for people who are experiencing homelessness.
- £19 could contribute towards a box of groceries and modest gifts so that families struggling in poverty can share a basic Christmas meal together
- £45 could provide a Christmas dinner and the promise of companionship for five lonely older people.
