This year has seen some significant development in Salisbury House, which is in the process of being refurbished. With significant investment from the Landlord Salvation Army Housing Association, including HCA funding, 48 rooms are being converted into en suite facilities. This includes redecoration and refurnishing of the bedrooms and the hallways and lounges having new flooring and being repainted in vibrant modern colours.
This modernisation brings Salisbury Lifehouse in line with the local authority Housing Strategy and paves the way for them to specialise in being a first stage homelessness provider, with positive move on to second stage accommodation managed by another provider. This route has been encouraged by the local authority due to a excellent record of working with clients with complex needs, plus Salisbury House's commitment to providing a cold weather place of safety and a local no second night out facility.
