We do want our rooms to be used by local community groups, and hiring our rooms, also helps us keep our runing costs down. CHARGES - PER ROOM - PER HOUR
Please see the list of below of our current charges. The rates are per room, per hour, and the cost of charges start when a group enters and leaves the building.
GROUND FLOOR
The Higgins Room is a large ground floor room, ideal for groups and community events. It is often used together with the Reece Room and Kitchen (rates available separately). £36 per hour
The Reece Room
A large community room, with a hatch into the kitchen. £30 per hour
Kitchen
Our large kitchen is well equipped for all types of food preparation and cooking.
£5 per hour for access to tea and coffee making facilities.
£15 per hour to use all the equipment, for the prepation of full meals etc.
The Main Hall
The Salvation Army is both a Church and a registered Charity. The Main hall is the main worship hall of our church, and is the centre of our activities. It is a very large room with a capacity of 300 people. It has a large platform, (stage) tiered seating and piano.
The Main Hall is where hold our weekly Sunday meeting (services) and where our brass band, adult and young people's choirs rehearse.. It is also where our extensive brass training programme training is held. So it is very important to us.

The Rosehill Room
The Rosehill Room is a large room, ideal for larger groups and community events and there is a small mini-kitchen in the room, for making teas, coffees and cold drinks. It is a barebones room and is ideal for young peoples activties. £36 per hour
The Whitchurch Room
This room is equipped with a screen, small tables and chairs and is ideal for groups with for small children and families. £24 per hour
The Hamlett Room
This room is equipped with table and chairs, and is ideal for small groups and one to one meetings. £24 per hour
Important Notes - Please bear in mind...
Every hire application goes first to our local church leadership team for approval, if they happy to proceed, then a contract is completed. This is then submitted to our Divisional Headqarters for approval. Together with a Public Liability insurance, (which is a requirement of the hirer to provide ) and safeguarding assessments (if required) and a nominated keyholders form to allow you to access the building. This process applies both to monthly and one day contracts. Please allow at least five weeks, before your event for this to be completed.
Unfortunately for a large building, car parking is very limited, not guaranteed and is not included in the contract. However, public (reading council) Pay and Display car parks, are only a few minutes walk away.
