Winton Salvation Army launches exciting toddler summer camp

published on 15 Jul 2025

Summer is a time for adventure, discovery, and making memories—especially for little ones. This August, The Salvation Army in Winton is opening its doors to toddlers and their parents or carers for a special Toddler Summer Camp filled with fun, creativity, and community.

Running over three Thursday mornings (14th, 21st, and 28th August, 10:00–11:30 AM) at The Salvation Army Hall on Latimer Road, the camp will bring pre-school children together for themed sessions exploring faith through interactive storytelling, music, crafts, and play. Each session will follow a summer and sea theme, inspiring curiosity and joy in young minds.

Think of different bible themes like: Creation, Jonah and the Whale, and the Large Catch of Fish —which are summer and sea-inspired twists.

Claire Hill, leader of The Salvation Army in Winton, said: "Our summer programme is amazing, and we are so grateful for the funding we’ve received to run such exciting activities. We can’t wait to welcome families for mornings of storytelling, singing, dancing, and creative play in our sensory garden. The Salvation Army at Winton is a community-inclusive space where everyone, from all backgrounds, is welcome and we look forward to sharing how wonderful God is with all the families who will join us for this event."

Salvation Army parent and toddler groups provide a space for both children and adults to connect with others, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Thanks to the generous support of The Count Zolton Rosco Maria Van Rosenthal Charitable Trust, the camp is fully funded, ensuring free meals for all attendees. Beyond the fun activities, the programme aims to strengthen community bonds, offering parents and carers a chance to connect while their little ones play in a safe, welcoming space.

"We don’t want anyone to feel alone. At The Salvation Army, we listen to what our community needs and step in with practical solutions. This toddler camp is one of those needs—giving children a place to explore and grow, while also providing parents with friendship and support."

Families are invited to join the fun—no booking required. For more information, contact Claire via email: winton@salvationarmy.org.ukclaire.hill@salvationarmy.org.uk.
