Salvation Army projects in Great Yarmouth have been boosted after the local church appointed a new community manager.

Harry Woods, 27, will be overseeing the community program, which consists of a number of different activities throughout the week.

They include a food bank on a Monday and Tuesday, the new Come and Meet Each Other (CAMEO) Club and Sally Ann’s Memory Club dementia café, which has also been recently launched.

Harry said he is also working on a cooking in one pot progam,  a ‘Messy Church’ session and school uniform bank.

He added: “It’s wonderful to be able to roll our sleeves up and practically help by trying to bring God into people’s lives.”

Captain Marie Burr, church leader in Great Yarmouth, said she was delighted to have Harry on board.

She said: “We spent just under a year without a community manager so it’s great to have Harry to work with on new ideas.”
