Worksop Salvation Army host first Spring fair
published on 17 Apr 2026
Set for Saturday 18 April from 11am to 1pm in its hall at Newcastle Avenue S80 1ET, the free event promises a lively and welcoming atmosphere filled with colour, creativity and connection. Visitors can browse a range of stalls featuring books, records, handmade crafts and delicious homemade cakes, with refreshments available throughout the day. It is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable outing where families, friends and neighbours can come together and embrace the warmth of the season.
Jackie Littlewood, church leader at Worksop Salvation Army, said: “Spring is a time of hope and fresh starts, and we wanted to create something that reflects that. This fair is about bringing people together, celebrating our community and giving everyone the chance to be part of something positive.”
All funds raised at the fair will support essential improvements to the hall, helping to create additional storage and enhance facilities, to enable the local church to continue to serve the people who rely on it. The space plays a vital role locally, especially in supporting homeless and vulnerable adults through weekly initiatives such as More Than a Meal, which offers hot food alongside access to support services and basic medical care, and regular coffee mornings that provide a safe and welcoming environment.
By coming along, visitors will not only enjoy a cheerful and uplifting event, but will also be helping to strengthen services that bring care, dignity and support to those who need it most.
The Salvation Army in Worksop runs a range of regular activities for the local community throughout the week. Weekly Sunday services are also open to all, offering a time for worship, reflection and connection. For more information on activities from The Salvation Army in Worksop, follow on Facebook.
