After hearing about the support The Salvation Army Emergency Response teams have given in the wake of recent incidents such as Grenfell Tower, as well as the terror attacks in Manchester and London, the Songs of Praise team were keen to go out and experience this area of our work.

Presenter Josie d'Darby visited our Emergency Response coordinator Major Nigel Tansley at a training exercise with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue. She got to work on the emergency response van making cups of tea and coffee for fire service personal taking part in the exercise and spoke to Major Nigel about our work with emergency services.

Ben Levy from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue was also interviewed and he paid tribute to The Salvation Army's emergency response team. He explained what a difference the team make to his crew.
