Royston Smith MP visit the Booth Centre - our hostel for those experiencing homelessness

Conservative MP for Southampton Itchen, Royston Smith will officially open our new training room and gym at The Booth Centre, 57 Oxford Street, Southampton SO14 3DL at 11.30am on Friday, 28 April.

The Booth Centre is a lifehouse run by The Salvation Army, which provides accommodation and resettlement to men and women with a range of complex needs who are experiencing homelessness.

As well as providing compassionate support and practical help, the centre also runs social enterprises - including a café and delivery service, furniture workshop and room rental facilities - which service users are encouraged to get involved in to help develop vital skills and qualifications.

With strong links to the local neighbourhood, The Booth Centre encourages members of the local community to visit or volunteer, alongside its service users; with the aim of improving social integration and breaking down the barriers to reintegration.
