Hove Salvation Army hosts open day this weekend

published on 30 Apr 2025

People in Hove are being invited to a special open day at the town’s Salvation Army church this weekend.

The event is being held at the church and charity on Conway Street between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, May 3 and is a chance to discover the work The Salvation Army does to support people across Hove.

Visitors can enjoy tours of the building, free refreshments, musical interludes and video screenings showing regular activities and information about The Salvation Army. There will also be the opportunity to meet the people who make the work of The Salvation Army possible.

Whether you’re curious about what goes on inside, want to get involved or just want a welcoming space to connect with others, the Open Day offers something for everyone.

Major Mandy Sands, Hove Salvation Army leader, said she is looking forward to welcoming visitors on the day.

She said: “This is a place where people find help, hope and friendship every day. We want to open our doors and show the community what we do – and how much we value their support.”

The Salvation Army in Hove provides a wide range of services including Open House community drop-in on Tuesdays and Friday mornings and a lunch club on Wednesdays.
