Church

Not so much a building as a group of people who are working out who Jesus is and the difference He can make to their lives.  You don't have to be religious, or even to believe in God.  You're welcome just as you are.

Community

Our aim is to be a authentic community of ordinary people, living in the commnity and living for the community.

That means that what be believe and experience should make a difference to our lives - and the life of our community - outside of the four walls of the church building.

What we do on a Sunday morning is no more important than what we do 'This Time Tomorrow' on a Monday morning.

We all have a part to play and we can all have a positive impact on our streets, families, friendship groups, places of leisure and places of work.

Sundays

  • 9:45am Prayer Meeting

    • A chance to pray about real people and real issues at the start of the day.  Occasionally we will meet earlier and have breakfast together.

  • 10:30am Family-Friendly Worship Meeting (approx. 75 minutes)

    • We like to think of Sunday morning church as 'Church to bring your friends to'.  It's relaxed, welcoming, topical and - of course - it's followed by refreshments!

    • We start off together for about 25 minutes, then the children go off to Kids' Church to do some activities that have been organised with them in mind.

    • We also run 'Messy Church' once a quarter, as well as our 'Sunday Xpress' all-age service which is especially suited to families with children.  Check out our Facebook page for more details (www.facebook.com/kirkwallsalvationarmy).

    • Our meetings are always followed by refreshments, and once in a while we stay for lunch.

  • 4:30pm Going Deeper (approx. 75 minutes)

    • Working our way through the Bible ... in bite-sized chunks.  This year our theme is 'Good News' and we are spending some time thinking about how and why the Bible is good news.  In particular we are looking at the four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - in the New Testament.

    • This meeting is more reflective and suited to adults in particular.

Weekdays
