Following the Prime Minister's announcement on the 16th of March, we have taken the decision to close all activities at Hove Salvation Army until further notice. Please check the website or Facebook page (Hove Salvation Army) for any updates.
Here at Hove, we have expanded our foodbank to meet the increased needs in our community. Part of our new covid safe measures requires that users of our foodbank must now make an appointment with Drew on 07551572205 to ensure less contact with others.
If you – or someone you know – is in need and in the Hove area, please email us at email@example.com, or contact Drew on 07551572205 who can arrange help.
If you would like to help us support our community in need, please visit the Hove JustGiving page and donate what you can. Or drop in donations of non-perishable foods via our Conway street entrance, which is open every Tuesday from 10 – 1.
We are currently NOT receiving donations for our charity shop.
We want to say a huge "Thank you" to those who donated such lovely toys and gifts this year - we have been able to provide a range of presents to more than 200 children in the Hove & Portslade area, often including something for the parents as well as some lovely Christmas food items and sweets for each child.
A team of volunteers hand-picked each toy - having been given the barest of information (eg boy aged 8, girl aged 6), and then another squadron of drivers have been out delivering the gifts in time for parents to wrap and pop under the tree.
We are now NOT receiving any more toy donations until next autumn, although we will be pleased to take non-perishable foods and items for our foodbank from the New Year.
Thank you again for helping us to help others, may you be blessed this Christmas!
We have a small forecourt at our Conway Street entrance which we like to reserve for drivers with mobility issues. But there's free parking available to us courtesy of Custom Pharmaceuticals just 100yds back along the road (turn south by Jewsons).
Shortly after exiting the station and walking south you will find a set of steps on the right, leading westwards onto Conway Street; Hove Salvation Army is at the far end of the road. See you in about ten minutes!
The ‘Coleridge Street’ stop on the 5, 5A &5B routes bring you to our Sackville Road entrance, a flight of stairs on the eastern side of the street (by the phone box) will bring you up to our Conway Street entrance.
