The Salvation Army works with some of the most vulnerable people in society. As we face the worst public health crisis in our lifetime, people on the margins need us now more than ever.
From running food banks and checking up on people who live alone, to offering counselling and supporting NHS isolation units, Salvation Army churches all over the country are responding to the crisis in dozens of different ways.
Every year we give out hundreds of toys to children in our community who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present.
This year due to the pandemic there are many more who need our help. It is our aim that there will be not even one child in Gillingham who will not receive a Christmas present this year.
If you would like to donate a present please drop it at our Green Street centre. Please ring on 01634 851224 to make sure that someone is there to receive your present.
In addition, we have partnered with The Salvation Army in the Philippines to brighten up the lives of children there. Our members are contributing to help make this Christmas a special one to children in an area of the Philippines where poverty is very real. If you would also like to donate towards this, please contact us.
