The Salvation Army has been at the heart of the Chelsea Community for over 100 years - this photo shows our community hall right next door to The Worlds End pub!
These days we are just the other side of the estate on Blantyre Street by the River Thames and our heart remains the same - to support and serve our local community. We do this through our charity shop, community lunches, regular worship opportunities and a range of other community outreach support. You can find out more using the links below.
We hold monthly family services (usually on the last Sunday of each month).
Loads of activities, teaching and discoveries for all ages.
Please do get in touch to find out more using the details on our home page.
or e-mail direct to email@example.com
Our community cafe is a popular meeting place for many local people. Regulars can become a member of the Lunch Club and have a main course, hot drink and dessert for just £3.00 (you can't get a coffee for this in some Chelsea establishments!) There are usually two choices everyday and our aim is to provide good wholesome food at a price that all can afford. Non members pay a little more (£3.50 for a main course and £1.50 for dessert) but even these prices are great value for money.
The cafe is open Monday to Thursday from 10.00am until 2.00pm with main meals served at midday and last orders at 1.30pm
We look forward to sharing with you.
Green Chelsea : Go Plastic Free
We all know that plastic waste pollutes our oceans and is bad for the environment but we often feel as though our small actions won’t make any difference. However…
…your small actions, added to my small actions…
…added to others in our community...
can have BIG consequences!
You can start today with one of three small changes all available here at Blantyre Street
1. Refill your washing up liquid bottle here rather than buying a new one and throwing your old one away (just £1 for 500mls).
2. Buy one a special WGAC toilet roll – they are plastic free, recycled, long lasting and good for the environment (£1 each)
3. Try a Shampoo Bar and consider changing from liquid shampoo in a plastic bottle to an environmentally friendly shampoo bar! (we have some to give away free for you to try!)
You can take a leaflet explaining a little more about each initiative but please do ask if you have any questions.
Christmas is a busy time for the Salvation Army - here in Chelsea we provide community meals, support with the Christmas Toy Appeal providing support for local families who may be struggling. We are also open on Christmas Day providing lunch and fellowship for anyone locally who may otherwise be on their own.
Please do get in touch if you would like more details or if you would like to support in any way. Thanks
