Dig For Victory Cooking & Budgeting Programme

St. Joseph's Community Hall, Shibdon Road, Blaydon

This is a FREE 7-8 week programme where all food, equipment, recipes and budgeting resources are provided.  Recipes are based on those used in the 2nd world war era and are aimed at being cheap and nutritious!  We have great fun and this is a good opportunity to make new friends, and to gain confidence and self esteem. The groups are no bigger than 6-7 people so we get to know each other well.  A FREE GIFT (e.g a slow cooker, hand whisk, hand blender) is given to everyone who completes 5 weeks of the course. You don't have to have any experience of cooking - everyone is welcome but places must be booked in advance so please contact Allison Ellis, Victory Programme Coordinator, on 07884 815224 or email allison.ellis@salvationarmy.org.uk, if you are interested.

Wellbeing Group

Come and join us for a relaxed morning of lots of different activities aimed at improving our mental health and wellbeing. The sessions are very informal and we have lots of lovely cake and tea / coffee.

As part of Blaydon Churches Together we run a Community Larder where anyone can come to get food that has been donated by local community groups or collected from Fareshare.  No referral needed.
