The Salvation Army works with some of the most vulnerable people in society. As we face the worst public health crisis in our lifetime, people on the margins need us now more than ever.
From running food banks and checking up on people who live alone, to offering counselling and supporting NHS isolation units, Salvation Army churches all over the country are responding to the crisis in dozens of different ways.
It is with much heart searching and great regret that I have to share with you that The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth will be cancelling many of its weekly activities due to the advise issued by the government in relation to the Covid19 Virus. Our Territorial Headquarters have issued guidelines that all public meetings must stop with immediate effect, this will include Sunday Worship.
We will continue to be open for food parcels by referral from other agencies on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The community lunch on a Thursday will be a takeaway meal, again people will need to register weekly for catering purposes.
Please be aware always of the guidelines that our government and health care givers are issuing regarding your personal safety and the wellbeing of those around you. You’re welcome to join with me on Sundays in prayer in your own home as we seek God to heal and bless our world.
