Salvation Army Poppy Factory Trustee meets HM Queen Camilla

Julius Wolff-Ingham, The Salvation Army’s Assistant Secretary for Communications attended a reception this week at Clarence House.

The reception celebrated the 100th anniversary of The Poppy Factory’s – establishment in Richmond, Surrey and also to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s ten years of support for the charity.  

Julius has been a trustee of The Poppy Factory for nine years, He said: “I was delighted to attend and meet with the Queen, where I was able to talk with her about my role as trustee but also about my work for The Salvation Army in leading fundraising and marketing operations.”

The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus service works to support people back into work – we recognise how important having a job is to general well-being and mental health.

The Poppy Factory also has a civilian employment focus.  Established in 1922 to help find work for wounded, injured and sick veterans, over recent years, the charity has diversified.  It no longer employs large numbers of veterans to make remembrance poppies, though a small team still make the royal and commemorative wreaths used on Remembrance Sunday.  The charity now supports wounded veterans across England and Wales back into work and most recently offers similar support to veterans’ families.
