Workplace stories

The Salvation Army works with some of the most disadvantaged people in our communities.

These include homeless people, older people, unemployed people, those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as victims of human trafficking and major emergencies.

Vistage UK's story

As a company, we wanted to do something to support those less fortunate during the lead up to Christmas. We chose to take on a challenge that would help raise some money for The Salvation Army, as we know they operate all over the UK and help the homeless and elderly.

We set up a stationary bike in one of our meeting rooms, with a green screen behind, then we each took a turn cycling as many miles as we could. We were very chuffed to reach our target on the last day and raise a significant amount of money.

Bromford Industries' story

At Bromford Industries, the most loved time of the year is Christmas. However, we know it can be a hard time for others in need. This is the reason why we chose to support The Salvation Army because it is a leading charity organisation with strong policies and good reputation.

The Salvation Army fundraising team contacted us immediately after downloading the materials from their website, and we had full support throughout our fundraising journey.

We had fun while doing something useful in order to deal with serious issues such as loneliness, poverty and homelessness that affect many unfortunate people. Afterwards, we received a thank-you card from Salvation Army that is still proudly pinned to the main office board.
