Tackling homelessness

Man homeless on street

The Salvation Army help homeless people across the UK regardless of their circumstances and without judgement. We do whatever we can to get them back on their feet again.

The Salvation Army work hard year-round to make sure that the most vulnerable people are not forgotten about, and during the pandemic we adapted our services to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness. With the help of our supporters and dedicated volunteers we’re able to help people who are homeless every day of the year.

We operate over 78 supported accommodation services across the UK and Ireland providing over 3,000 beds every night. We call these services ‘Lifehouses’ because they are more than a place to stay, they are places where people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping can receive training, advice and a place to rebuild their lives. We’re also addressing the root causes of homelessness through our campaigning work by influencing Government policy.

In our Lifehouse in Coventry we have a rough sleeper team who go out three times a week to assist homeless people in the area.
