A spokesperson on behalf of The Salvation Army said,

“This report is damaging to our service, we recognise that the level of care has fallen below the standards expected from us, which we deeply regret, we are committed to working closely with CQC to ensure that we can return Youell Court to the ‘Good’ inspection rating we achieved in 2015.”

The spokesperson continued, “As a church and charity we recognise that this report will be upsetting to our residents and their relatives, we would like to offer our sincere apologies as we have let them down. We have invited residents and relatives to meet face to face with senior personnel, where we will reassure them of our commitment to fix the problems and to share our plan of action to restore the level of care to the standards expected of us.”
