The Shield Project

The Shield Project, Aberdeenshire, provides a floating support service to homeless individuals managing addictions across Aberdeenshire Council. The service works across the biggest local authority area within Scotland, which at times means working in small isolated communities.

However, the service has established, in partnership with the local Corps, a weekly drop-in service in Peterhead which provides a great opportunity for a number of service users to come together to share fellowship and stories over a meal, reducing their social isolation. In addition, a number of partner agencies now also attend, so clients can receive additional support with their planned support visits as required.
