Sheppey crossing crash: The Salvation Army offer support to victims and rescue crews at the scene of pile-up in Kent

London South East Division's Emergency Response Unit attending to crash victims and emergency personnel at the scene of the Sheppey Crossing pile-up

The Salvation Army's Emergency Response Unit from London South East Division has been providing support to rescue crews and victims of 130-vehicle pile-up at Sheppey Crossing in Kent. We are working in collaboration with St John's Ambulance.

A Salvation Army Spokesperson said: "Our team arrived at the scene at 10am to offer pastoral care and refreshments to emergency services and victims following the crash which happened at around 7am on Thursday.

Due to the soaring temperatures, a shelter has been erected and cold beverages are being served by The Salvation Army at the scene to help victims and rescuers".

The heat is currently an issue as rescuers work non stop to attend to help all those affected.

The Salvation Army's emergency response vehicles are located all around the UK, supporting emergency services during major incidents.
