The Salvation Army's Emergency response team for the Anglia Division were called out to assist several Suffolk fire rescue crews as they responded to a major thatched roof fire at a house near Bury St Edmunds.
Rescue crews were called out before 9pm on Monday 18 March after the blaze broke out in the roof of the farmhouse in Pepper Lane, Thurston.
From their emergency mobile canteen The Salvation Army provided refreshments and pastoral support throughout the night to around 70 firefighters and relief crews from stations across the county.
An operational support vehicle from Ipswich East also attended the scene.
It took about three hours for firefighters to bring the blazing inferno under control.
Afterwards, fire crews remained at the property while they took measures to prevent the blaze re-igniting
