We are to feature in BBC’s much-loved Songs of Praise

published on 23 Jul 2015

The Salvation Army has been asked by the BBC to feature in a new recording with BBC’s much-loved Songs of Praise.

Averaging 1.5 million viewers, the series has been through some exciting changes since November 2014 and, as a result, we will feature throughout the year in a new programme format.

For 53 years, Songs of Praise has given choral singing a presence on BBC One and we are honoured that The Salvation Army has been invited to be part of their new format.

We will be recording with the BBC a number of songs on 4 and 5 September during the evenings at our Sale church, on the outskirts of Manchester.

We need you to take part in this event to help The Salvation Army reach a new and diverse audience. If you would like to be involved in the congregation or the massed choir, please order tickets through the Songs of Praise website here

What a wonderful opportunity for The Salvation Army to have a television presence throughout the year, especially during our 150th year! In order to make this a success for the BBC as well as our own church, please sign up to take part.

Please note children from the age of seven and above are welcome to attend with their parents or guardians as part of the congregation.

For more information, please contact The Salvation Army Media Office and ask for Emily, Claire or Emma on 020 3657 7555.
