Saffron Walden’s Salvation Army charity shop opens again

published on 2 Jul 2021

The Salvation Army charity shop in Saffron Walden will be welcoming back customers this month.

New manager Bobbie Boggis is counting down the days, as final preparations are being made at the shop on Hill Street for the reopening on 13 July.

A launch will be held at the end of the month at the shop, which closed last March as a result of the pandemic.

Bobbie said: “I can promise everyone friendly customer service, good quality stock and a warm welcome.”

Bobbie has led a reorganisation of the shop and wants to give customers a brand new experience.

Funds from The Salvation Army charity shop are used for local projects and The Salvation Army is working with other churches to identify what’s needed.

Saffron Walden’s Salvation Army Leader, Captain Katrina Thurlow, said: “We’re pleased to have Bobbie’s expertise supporting the corps at Saffron Walden and our work. We really value the shop and so does the town. Bobbie is a crucial part of that process.”

If you are interested in volunteering, call into the shop at Unit 3 Goldhill House, 2 Hill Street, Saffron Walden or click here.
