Children from Norwich, Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Dereham and Felixstowe came to Diss earlier this month for a fun day organised by The Salvation Army.

More than 30 children aged between seven and 12 joined the church and charity’s “Great Picnic” on July 17 and took part in activities, including sports, crafts, minute-to-win-it games and singing. They also enjoyed a picnic on a beautiful summer’s day.

She said: “For a lot of these youngsters, it would have been the first time out of their bubbles. Children and young people have been fundamentally affected by this pandemic, so events like this are essential to help them get back on track.
