The Salvation Army Trading Company has announced the return of its Big Toy Rehoming campaign, in partnership with The Entertainer.

More than 40,000 toys were previously rehomed during the first two years of the scheme, meaning the equivalent of over 20 tonnes of waste was potentially kept out of landfill.

The launch of the campaign, which will now be running all year long, has coincided with World Environment Day on 5 June 2021.

Families are urged to bring any unwanted toys to any of the 171 The Entertainer stores. These will then be sold in Salvation Army Trading Company charity shops, raising vital funds for frontline services helping struggling families, rough sleepers and isolated older people.

Kirk Bradley, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Salvation Army Trading Company, said: “Donations from the previous Big Toy Rehoming campaigns have helped The Salvation Army hugely in continuing to provide practical and emotional support for vulnerable people in the UK. It’s such a worthwhile cause and we’re delighted that The Entertainer will now be accepting donations year-round!”

People looking to donate their toys to The Entertainer don’t need to worry about including packaging. However, all toys must have a CE label or marking for safety reasons. Those that do not have these labels will be safely recycled. Unfortunately, soft or plush toys cannot be accepted.
