Moving on

Specialised programmes to support people to be ready to move on to live on their own.

I have achieved so much thanks to the staff here.

The aim of the resettlement programme is to offer people the intervention and support they need to break the cycle of homelessness at an early stage. A high degree of tolerance and support is often required and staff tailor programmes to meet each individual’s needs.

We believe that providing emergency accommodation is not enough to address the long-term needs of the men and women who come through our doors.

However, to motivate people, especially young people, to maintain a day programme and engage in life-skills sessions requires them to be willing to address their substance misuse and other complex issues.

One of the main aims of our resettlement centres is to help and support people maintain or gain employment or education. This is especially true for young people who if they are not engaged in meaningful activity are more likely to get involved in illicit substances and anti-social behaviour out of boredom and nothing else better to do.

Challenging behaviour is managed through individual crisis intervention, ongoing risk assessments and individual behaviour plans.

In our resettlement centres we provide 24-hour professional support by a social care team.
