Information for runners with a place in the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon
Every runner with a place in the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon will be able to use their place in the rescheduled event on Sunday 4 October without any further payment.
All runners who have a place for the 2020 event and who choose not to take part (or are unable to do so) in the rescheduled event on Sunday 4 October will receive a refund of their 2020 entry fee or, if they wish, they may donate their 2020 entry fee to The London Marathon Charitable Trust.
Runners who do not take up one of the above options (with the exception of those who acquired their entry through a charity or sponsor) will be able to defer (rollover) their entry to the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon, scheduled for Sunday 25 April 2021, on payment of the entry fee for 2021, following the standard deferment process. Charity and sponsor places belong to those organisations, rather than the individual runner.
Please note that runners who have already withdrawn from the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon and rolled over their entry to 2021 will be offered the option to take part on Sunday 4 October or to keep their entry rolled over to 2021, subject to availability.
If you are rolling over you place and still running in October you should carry on training! Get Fitter, Faster and Stronger!
All funds raised will still be allocated to your chosen project and will really help countless lives, from Anti Human trafficking projects, helping the homelessness, to community projects - you are all amazing! And if you wanted to carry on raising funds, then please feel free to do so!
a) If you are pulling out of the London Marathon 2020 you will need to inform your donors that you are doing so, your donors may still wish their donations to be allocated to The Salvation Army’s work.
b) If your donor wishes their donation to be refunded please contact us directly, our contact details are below.
If you have decided to roll over your place and run the London Marathon on 4th October tell your donors that you now have an extra 4 months to raise funds and that their donations have already reached the charity which will help countless lives.
