Local people in a Yorkshire town get the chance to question politicians ahead of general election

Local people will have the chance to question general election candidates standing in the Keighley and Ilkley constituency at a hustings taking place at Keighley Salvation Army organised by Central Keighley Churches Together on Sunday 19th April at 6:30 pm. 

The hustings will be chaired by Reverend Jonathan Pritchard and local people are being encouraged to attend the event which is open to all. 

Lieutenant Ben Cotterill, Commanding Officer at Keighley Salvation Army, said: 

 “As part of the Central Keighley Churches Together we believe the hustings will give the local community a great opportunity to engage with the election.  We hope that by attending and asking questions that matter to them, local people will find it easier to make an informed decision on 7th May.” 

The parliamentary candidates from the following parties will be participating: 

Labour – John Grogan

Conservative – Kris Hopkins

Green Party – Ros Brown

Liberal Democrats – Gareth Epps

UKIP – Paul Latham

The hustings is open for anyone from the local community to attend and those wishing to ask questions are encouraged to email these in advance to jonathan.pritchard@westyorkshiredales.anglican.org
