How your gift helps transform lives

Gifts in Wills provide a reliable and stable source of income which enables us to plan long term projects and deliver our huge range of programmes reaching the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our communities.

Making a Will is a very personal matter, and your first priority is, and should always be, your family. Many people choose to also include a gift to a charity in their Will, to help ensure their kindness and compassion live on after they’ve gone.

One supporter wanted to help “young people seeking shelter and assistance” and her compassion will now live on through Springfield Lodge, a Salvation Army social service for young people aged 16 to 21 experiencing homelessness in Southwark. London.

Thanks to this special gift, we can continue to offer a safe, supportive environment and provide accommodation-based and floating support, helping young people make positive choices about their current circumstances. Read more about Southwark Young People Service.

Another project funded through gifts in Wills means we can help protect vulnerable people from becoming tomorrow’s victims of modern slavery and human trafficking on the Polish border with Ukraine.

This means we can use our contacts to get women and their children to a safe place, share leaflets in Ukrainian to alert those fleeing to the risks of human trafficking and engage with anti-trafficking networks, sharing online updates on new trafficking trends and support to those at risk.

In Worthing, money from gifts in Wills was used to set up a befriending service through the ‘Welcome In’ Community Programme. T
