Violence Against Women & Girls Strategy Response

In December 2020 the Home Office announced a call for evidence for it’s Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) strategy 2021-2024.

Our submission provides information and evidence to help the Home Office to build on its understanding of how current legislation and services are impacting those subjected to violence. We have provided evidence in relation to both violence against sex workers and domestic abuse. These issues were discussed separately, but they often overlap.

The submission focuses on our work in two projects in London, The Faith House Project and The Link Café.

Faith House offers support for active and former sex workers: outreach, group work, 1:1 sessions and assisted appointments are designed with a focus on holistic safety to empower these individuals to improve their wellbeing.

The Link Café is a safe space where women who have left abusive partners can find someone to journey with them through complex systems and be linked to services in the local community.
