Vision statement
The 24-7/SA Prayer Network exists to weave passionate, effective prayer through the fabric of The Salvation Army.
Mission statement
The 24-7/SA Prayer Network will achieve its vision by:
- Maintaining a covering of prayer over The UK Salvation Army
- Building a community of dedicated intercessors across the territory
- Equipping Salvationists to pray accurately and effectively
- Training leaders to promote prayer and to grow pray-ers
- Championing the cause of prayer at every level of Salvation Army life
Values
The 24-7/SA Prayer Network is characterised by:
- A passionate conviction that prayer is a lifestyle of love, not an activity of duty (Ephesians 3:14-21)
- A confident trust that God is looking for willing and available people, not super-Christian super-heros (1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
- An expectation that God will work in amazing and miraculous ways if we humble ourselves and pray (2 Chronicles 7:14)
- A commitment to listen to God's instructions in all of our planning, and to work out of his grace and strength, not our own (Matthew 11:25-30)
- A hungry longing that our prayer should be nothing less than an encounter with the living God (Luke 9:28-36)
- An enthusiasm to make prayer ?normal' and accessible to those who think they can't pray (Luke 11:1-13)
- An awareness that we are in a battle, and that we need to learn to fight well and wisely (Ephesians 6:10-18)
- An aspiration to learn how to be praying communities, rather than just praying individuals (Acts 2:42-47)
- A determination to pray prayers that will set captives free, and bring hope and transformation for the last, the least and the lost (Isaiah 61:1-9)
- A belief that God is calling The Salvation Army to work together with other churches and Christian organisations in the cause of promoting prayer (Psalm 133)
