The London Marathon
The London Marathon is one of the biggest events in the UK running calendar and The Salvation Army has a limited number of Golden Bond places for you to claim a free place and join our team of marathon runners.
This year's race takes place on the 22nd April 2012
The entry fee for the race is £75 and we ask our runners to pledge to raise £2,000. Your sponsorship money can go to an area of work within The Salvation Army of your choice.
If you are on The Salvation Army running team you will get:
- A guaranteed place in the London Marathon

- Fundraising Tips
- Regular updates
Due to our limited places and to avoid disappointment and improve your chances of getting a place in the marathon we still encourage people who would like to run for The Salvation Army to apply through the London Marathon's own ballot system.
Own Place Runners
If you were lucky enough to get your own place through the ballot we would love for you to run for us. There is no fundraising target and you will still get all the benefits of a Golden Bond Place.
