Confidentiality

We will hold in strictest confidence information we may obtain during the course of our enquiries about any individual. Such details will not be passed on to the enquirer or anyone unless permission to do so has been secured by us from the person concerned. We do not carry out 'secret' investigations, for the purpose of obtaining information.

In particular, addresses of people we locate will not be disclosed without consent. Our first contact is often made by letter, with an assurance that addresses will not be made known unless this is agreed; this pledge must be honoured.  However, we must be free to reveal to the person sought the identity and address (or means of contact) of the relative on whose behalf we are acting; also the reason for the enquiry.
