The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.

The Salvation Army's practical hands-on work is renowned. It has never been enough just to preach; the message of God's love is also demonstrated through its work particularly with marginalised and vulnerable people.  In corps and centres across the territory, people of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to discover how much he loves them and the possibilities he has for their lives.

To donate financially, see our JustGiving page, to buy specific items, see our Amazon wish list. Some items on the wish list are catering packs, this is just an idea of what type of food we would like gift.

Please be aware that, due to health and safety reasons, we are not able accept large second hand goods (including electrical items and white goods) at Goldthorpe.If you have donations of this type, please direct them to The Barnsley Salvation Army Donation Centre, who will happily accept these.

We can accept clothing donations and small household items, such as plates, cups, saucepans but please ensure that these are good condition and you arrange a time to drop them off with us.

Please do not leave anything on our doorsteps as this is classed as fly tipping and we are not always open.
